Data protection is a matter of particular importance to us at Quality Translation. We therefore process our customers’ personal data exclusively in compliance with the statutory data protection regulations. We collect, process and use personal data when you provide us with this data (e.g. by registering on the website, making enquiries, etc.) and we are authorised to collect, use and process it on the basis of the consent you have given or in accordance with a legal provision.
Should we receive personal data about you from our partner companies, we will inform you of this without delay.
This data is also stored and processed solely in accordance with statutory provisions. Personal data is any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person (hereinafter referred to as the ‘data subject’).
Personal data includes:
surnames, first names, home address, telephone number, marital status, date of birth,
gender, email address.
The personal data listed above is processed for the following purposes:

Communication with the customer regarding services and projects, e.g. to process the customer’s enquiries

Planning, implementing and managing the (contractual) business relationship between the company and the customer, e.g. to process orders for products and services, collect payments, for the purposes of bookkeeping, invoicing and debt collection, and to carry out deliveries;

Maintaining and safeguarding the security of our services and our websites; preventing and detecting security risks, fraudulent activities or other criminal or malicious acts

The processing of personal data is necessary to achieve the purposes set out above, including the fulfilment of the (contractual) business relationship with the customer. The legal basis for data processing is – unless expressly stated otherwise – Article 6(1)(b) and (f) of the General Data Protection Regulation or the consent expressly given (Article 6(1)(a) of the General Data Protection Regulation) of our customers.
The data you provide to us will be treated confidentially. We will neither sell your personal data to third parties nor market it in any other way. As a general rule, the data will not be made available to third parties for their use, unless you have given your consent or we are legally entitled and/or obliged to disclose this data.
To the extent that this is legally permissible and necessary to comply with applicable law or to assert, exercise or defend legal claims, we may transfer personal data to courts, tax authorities and supervisory authorities. However, we take all measures to ensure appropriate and adequate safeguards for the protection of your personal data.
Unless an explicit retention period is specified at the time of collection (e.g. in a declaration of consent), personal data will be erased once it is no longer required to fulfil the purpose for which it was stored, unless statutory retention obligations (e.g. under commercial and tax law) prevent such erasure.
Data subjects’ rights: the right to access, rectify, erase or restrict the processing of your personal data, the right to object, and the right to data portability.
Upon request, we will inform you in writing, in accordance with applicable law, whether and which personal data relating to you is stored by us. Should incorrect information be stored despite our efforts to ensure data security and accuracy, we will rectify this upon your request. Furthermore, you have the right to request that we restrict the processing of your personal data. You may also request to receive the data you have provided to us in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format. You may also object to our processing of your personal data. You have the right to request the deletion of your personal data, provided that this does not conflict with statutory retention periods. We will delete your data if we no longer require it for the purpose for which we collected and processed it, or if you withdraw your consent and there is no other legal basis for the continued processing of your data. Furthermore, we will erase your data if the processing has been unlawful for reasons unknown to us, or if you object to the processing and there are no overriding legitimate interests for the processing. If you have consented to the processing of your personal data, you have the right at any time to withdraw your consent with effect for the future. Withdrawing your consent does not render past data processing unlawful. You are free to choose whether or not to provide your data to us. However, this data is necessary for the conclusion of a contract or for responding to your enquiries. If you do not wish to provide your data, the contract cannot be concluded or your enquiries cannot be answered. The provision of data is necessary for the conclusion of the contract.
