Liaison interpreting is an interpreting technique that can be crucial to the success of international business negotiations. At the heart of this process is consecutive interpreting, in which an interpreter translates the spoken language into another language with a time delay and without technical aids.

What does liaison interpreting cost?
As a rule, liaison interpreting is charged on the same basis as conference interpreting, i.e. on the basis of a daily flat rate. However, in certain circumstances there is also the option of a half-day flat rate if the assignment is very short. This flat rate covers not only the actual interpreting time during the negotiations, but also takes into account the necessary preparation time, which can take several hours or days depending on the complexity and subject matter of the negotiations.
